For a retail company, there are no true environmental risks directly linked to the nature of its business activities: our responsibility lies in minimizing the environmental impact generated by our stores and warehouses.
We have committed to accelerating a transformation process that has led Cisalfa Group to:
Record energy consumption from renewable sources equal to 91% of total demand, thanks to the installation of photovoltaic systems and the signing of a framework agreement for the supply of green energy across the entire Group, through the purchase of Guarantees of Origin (GO) issued by the Italian Energy Services Manager (GSE). As a result, electricity consumption from non‑renewable sources has become residual.
Confirm the downward trend in direct emissions, mainly due to the reduction of natural gas-related emissions, and—most importantly—of indirect emissions calculated using the market-based methodology (–93.5%).
Launch a process to replace cardboard packaging with durable plastic crates for product distribution to stores. With an investment of over €500,000 for 25,000 crates, we expect to eliminate more than 800,000 cardboard boxes, equivalent to over 75% of our annual consumption.
Improve energy efficiency in all Cisalfa Sport stores (up to –10% consumption) through a remote management and monitoring system capable of controlling lighting and regulating temperature via algorithms directly connected to air-conditioning units.
Replace obsolete air-conditioning systems in Cisalfa Sport stores. In 2023, the installation of four new systems led to an estimated annual energy saving of 170,000 kWh and over 47,000 kg of CO₂. The installation of new systems also brings additional benefits, such as the use of refrigerant gases with a lower environmental impact.
Install two new photovoltaic systems for the Comun Nuovo (BG) warehouse. This has brought our total solar energy production capacity to 200,000 kWh per year.
